HTC has launched Viveport, the App store for HTC Vive. The portal will provide a range of education, art, and culture-based content.
Experiences available via the app store on Viveport include Google’s Spotlight Story Pearl, Stonehenge VR and The Music Room.
This is the first time that Viveport will be available outside of China. There are currently 60 different apps available.
Rikard Steiber, senior vice president of virtual reality at HTC, said: “Viveport is the place where people can start their journey to virtual reality experiences.
“We launched in China earlier this year. We are happy to roll this out globally with some of the best creators in the industry. Our vision is to establish Viveport as the platform for virtual reality.”
HTC will hope that the launch of Viveport will also help to bring the Vive to a wider audience beyond the gaming market, and compete with the PlayStation VR which launches in October.
