Currys/PC World has signed an agreement with Dell to stock the Dell XPS, Inspiron and Alienware gaming ranges in its stores in time for the back to school period.
It’s the latest retail announcement from Dell after the PC vendor announced its return to retail last year. It’s currently partnered with Tesco, John Lewis, Amazon and Shop Direct in the UK, and is planning to keep its pool of retail partners relatively small.
PCR understands Dell has been in talks with Currys/PC World for over a year.
The Dell range of S Series and U Series monitors, XPS, Inspiron and Alienware products will be available in Currys/PC World stores throughout the UK from the end of July.
Alongside those products in store, the retailers’ parent company Dixons Carphone will provide consumers with access to a further range of Dell products online at Currys.co.uk and PCworld.co.uk.
In addition, Currys/PC World’s Knowhow services will help customers upgrade to a new Dell Windows 10 PC.
Dell’s products include its portfolio of XPS devices, including the latest ultra-mobile XPS 13 and XPS 15 laptops, the Inspiron range of notebooks, desktops and all-in-ones, and Alienware gaming systems, as well as Dell’s S and U Series monitors.
“We are thrilled to be working with Currys/PC World again in the UK," said Jamil Nathoo, Dell’s UK general manager for retail, consumer and small business.
"As such a significant player in the retail industry, this relationship is key in giving our customers the choice that they’re asking for. We’re excited to continue bringing innovative and high-performing technology to consumers on the high street.”
Phil Samuels, trading director at Dixons Carphone, commented: "We are delighted to be introducing Dell’s XPS, Inspiron and Alienware ranges into our stores.
"Providing customers with choice is at the heart of what we do and putting Dell’s powerful and reliable technology onto our shelves is doing just that.”
