With PCR Boot Camp 2016 less than a month away, event speaker and VIP Computers managing director Rich Marsden discusses his company’s plans for the event and the key issues/trends in the industry, including the importance of VR…
Can you give us a teaser of the products/services will VIP Computers be showing off at Boot Camp this year?
We will be showcasing our independent reseller programme, VIP Club, which has gathered significant momentum this year, including the debut of the VIP Club Roadshow in April.
What subjects are you looking forward to covering off during the Ask A Distie panel session, in which you’re a participant?
We welcome the opportunity to participate in the Q&A panel, which gives us the chance to engage directly with resellers and to answer their questions. In particularly, I’m looking forward to addressing concerns and giving them the best possible advice on how to grow their business in a very competitive industry.
What are your thoughts on Boot Camp and why does it continue to be an important event for the industry?
PCR Boot Camp continues to be an important event because it is relevant to the needs of the distributors, vendors and resellers alike. It facilitates education and engagement, which are two vital ingredients to the success of any event.
What have been VIP’s key achievements over the last 12 months and what is the focus for the coming year?
At the start of the year VIP reported a record six months and we’re on target to have a fantastic year-end. This performance is also reflected in VIP Club growth – which has amassed more customers and additional vendors. We’re also very proud of our successful Graduate Scheme, which enjoys excellent relationships with local education establishments and the community.
What are the most important issues or trends in the market right now?
Undoubtedly, the emerging technology trend in 2016 is virtual reality and the huge benefits this will bring to the end-user experience. VIP will be working closely with the manufacturers of this technology to ensure the channel and their customers are ready and enabled.
