Exertis acquires wireless tech distributor Siracom

Exertis has acquired Siracom – a specialist distributor of wireless technology products and services.

Siracom supplies a wide range of third party branded wireless infrastructure and security products to over 1,000 partners across the UK.

The business employs 15 staff at its offices in Basingstoke.

Exertis is one of Europe’s largest tech distribution and specialist service providers. It partners with 350 global technology brands and over 22,850 resellers and retailers across Europe.

The addition of Siracom to the firm’s enterprise offering demonstrates the commitment it has to grow this evolving part of the Exertis business, says the distributor, who believes this is an ‘excellent strategic fit’ to its commercial offering to the channel, which now encompasses server, storage, networking, UC, security and wireless networking.

Phil Brown, UK IT sales and commercial director, commented: “We are delighted with the addition of Siracom to the Exertis business. The hard work begins now as we set about integrating Siracom and their team into our business and continue to deliver the excellent customer service and extensive knowledge and support that customers have been used to.”

David Thompson, managing director of Siracom, added: “The Siracom team has built a great business and a great reputation in the field of Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi security. To join with Exertis, its broad market reach and its expertise in logistics and marketing is a compelling proposition.

“I am confident that this fantastic combination will lead to accelerated growth and a wonderful future for all stakeholders.”

The distributor has already made a number of announcements over the past month, including distribution deals with LG, Momit, Samsung and Plantronics.

Exertis has also created a number of new roles within the company, including Sarah Bamford as commercial manager of its AV business, and Matt Cushway as Microsoft general manager.
