Exertis creates new role to drive Microsoft business

Distributor Exertis has appointed Matt Cushway to the newly created role of Microsoft general manager.

Cushway will be responsible for maximising opportunities across all areas of the business impacted by the vendor including; gaming, software, Linx tablets, hardware and peripherals.

Based at Exertis’ Harlow office, he will report to Alex Croft, Exertis Home’s commercial director.

“Matt has a wealth of sales and purchasing experience in the retail and entertainment industries and is a welcome addition to the commercial team. He will be responsible for developing our Microsoft business and relationship, acting as the focal point for the vendor to drive opportunities and growth across a variety of category areas” said Mike Buley, Exertis retail director.

Cushway joins from Twentieth Century Fox where he was head of sales. Prior to that, he has held a variety of commercial positions: buying manager for games and console at Tesco, commercial product manager on PCs and emerging tech at Dixons, and senior account manager at Warner Bros.

“It’s an exciting time to be joining Exertis with its diversity in distributing technology that is deployed in the home, business and enterprise,” said Matt Cushway.

“Microsoft is a key vendor in these areas and this newly created role will enable us to create better alignment of our objectives and maximise the strengths of both companies to grow our business in the retail and B2B sectors.”

Earlier this week, Exertis announced it will be offering resells the opportunity to purchase Plantronics Device-as a-Service Flex (DaaS Flex) offerings.

The DaaS package – facilitated by Exertis Credit Services – offers a 12, 24 or 36 monthly payment option that guarantees the replacement or servicing of Plantronics headsets.
