‘The cloud is the biggest business game-changer since the invention of the telephone’

We recently caught up with Solgari’s Marcus Kellman to find out why he thinks cloud technology is fast becoming an essential business tools.

“The cloud can transform the way companies do business. It gives them the freedom to access data and services from any location with an internet connection, whether it’s the office, at home or on-the-move, meaning individuals are no longer bound by geographical limitations,” said Kellman, Solgari’s head of technical sales and pre-sales.

“In addition, it provides a consistent look and feel to remote users and also the ability to stay within compliance regulations. Furthermore, cloud flexibility and scalability means business communications can develop at the same pace as the company’s growth.

“Not only does this help businesses financially, but it brings added flexibility to the workplace by making it much easier to communicate and share information,” he added.

Over the next five years, Kellman expects to see a greater variety of hybrid cloud options for very large enterprise companies, while firms will likely move towards extending telephony and UC capabilities to mobile users.

In the small to mid-market space, he believes the revolution of moving from hardware to cloud communications software is in full flight and will only accelerate.

“Not since Alexander Graham Bell’s invention of the telephone in 1876 has technology unleashed such a huge change in how companies operate and communicate through the movement from hardware to cloud software,” declared Kellman.

“Simply put, cloud software is becoming the new normal. Today’s workforce is becoming increasingly remote and there’s a growing necessity for teams to collaborate at anytime, anywhere. The biggest risk today is not investing in the cloud and seeing competitors reap the benefits instead,” he concluded.

Solgari provides business communication services, including telephony, collaboration, contact centre, IVR and compliance through an integrated cloud software solution.
