New D-Link UK boss: ‘It’s up to us to deliver a service that’s not just about products’

D-Link has appointed Paul Routledge as country manager for UK and Ireland.

Routledge has been with D-Link for over five years, working initially for the European Business Development team before taking the position of sales and marketing manager for the UK and Ireland in 2014.

That role saw him spearhead a team that has delivered over twenty five per cent growth year on year. Routledge’s appointment is effective immediately and he will be based at D-Link’s European Head Quarters in Park Royal, London.

He will now have extended responsibilities that will include post sales and service delivery in a move that looks to develop new channels to market and drive growth of D-Link’s cloud-enabled smart solutions, alongside gaining market share for business wireless and switching and driving D-Link’s IP Surveillance solutions to meet the growing opportunity for IP infrastructure.

“Having been at D-Link for five years I’m excited to be taking on this challenge and I truly enjoy working closely with the channel,” said Routledge.

“The UK channel is constantly evolving, and it is up to us to meet and exceed the changing needs of our channel partners. Our main difference is the high quality service we provide, providing this service is down to the excellent team of highly skilled, experienced people we have and we want to bring this business unit to a point where we make significant positive contribution to D-Link to build on our success to date.

“In terms of the channel, there will continue to be some consolidation in the market and it is up to us to deliver a real quality of service that is not just about the product but also about the team and the services in which we offer. Looking at the wider business strategy from a D-Link perspective, what we have to do is drive growth of technologies with real potential and focus on cloud enabled products and solutions,” he added.

Routledge will report into Luigi Salmoiraghi, sales and marketing director of Southern Europe and UKI, who added, “This is a more expansive role for Paul with a strong focus on bringing quality products to the market via D-Link’s channel partner community. Paul will look to capitalise on his experience and lead the UKI team in achieving further growth, while developing new business opportunities and partnerships.”
