Last week was a very busy week for new computing products. Here we round up all the latest peripherals, software, components and devices announced.
There have been a whole host of gaming peripherals announced recently, including the DeathAdder Chroma Overwatch gaming mouse (U.S. $79.99/ EU €99.99), the BlackWidow Chroma Overwatch gaming keyboard (U.S. $179.99/EU €219.99), and the Goliathus Extended Overwatch mouse mat (U.S. $34.99/EU €42.99) – all from Razer. These are all official Overwatch licensed peripherals that will be available worldwide when the game launches in 2016.
Razer isn’t the only one that’s unveiled a gaming mouse, Corsair has released detailed of its new Katar gaming mouse, which has a zero lag interface, pro player mode and a price of £28.99. There’s also an accompanying MM300 gaming mouse available in small (£9.99), medium (£12.99) and extended (£19.99).
Another gaming mouse unveiled last week was the MadCatz R.A.T. Pro, which has a high-performance 5000 DPI Pixart PMW3310 infrared optical sensor, a ‘precision Aim’ button and is based on input from eSports competitors.
Hannspree has launched a new Pulse smartwatch with a touchscreen IPS display, Bluetooth, heart rate monitor, pedometer, stopwatch and sleep monitor. The device is available now with a retail price of £89.
Caseking has introduced new Kolink cases and power supplies to its range.
“Each case introduced fills a specific sector of system, whether it’s the Aviator, available in three colours and sporting an aggressive gaming design, or the KLM-001, with a brushed aluminium effect finish and USB3, perfect for a business or home office build. Added to that, we have a range of fully certified 80+ Bronze power supplies, which provide reliable and efficient power in several wattages, and unlike some other products in the channel, meet the European efficiency regulations that all power supplies sold in the EU must adhere to,” said Glen Rhodes, product manager at Overclockers UK.
ASRock has shown off its Fatal1ty Z170 motherboard for pro gamers. It is bundled with features to help it appeal to a wide range of system builders and offers support for al the latest standards of hardware. It is priced at £155.
There’s also an Easter Egg in the motherboard in the form of a DDR4 OC feature buried deep inside the UEFI update.
VXL Software has released new CloudDesktop PC Repurposing software designed to deliver a more viable solution to that of a legacy PC infrastructure.
Compatible with a wide range of the industry protocols, including Citrix, VMware and Microsoft, VXL’s CloudDesktop, runs on X86 base PCs and supports Intel, AMD and VIA processors. With the ability to configure and set-up in minutes, VXL’s CloudDesktop can be deployed via USB, CD-ROM/DVD or remotely using management tools and is available in both French and German language versions.
WatchGuard has announced the release of the Firebox T30 and T50 family of enterprise-strength unified threat management appliances engineered specifically to address the rapidly changing security threats faced by small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and Distributed Enterprises.
Lenovo has unwrapped the new Yoga 700 laptop – a Windows 10 convertible laptop with four usage modes (laptop, stand, tent, tablet). Specs include a 10-point multitouch Full HD ISP display and Dolby DS1.0 Home Theater stereo speakers. It is available in 11-inch and 14-inch models.
Panasonic has a new Toughpad 4K tablet. The FZ-Y1 is designed for engineers, architects and designers and has increased computing power and is the first Panasonic Toughpad to offer Windows 10 Pro. It will be available form the end of December 2015 with prices starting at £3,180.
MMD has announced a new Moda 27-inch monitor with an Ambiglow Plus Base. Artem Khomenko, product manager for Philips monitors EMEA at MMD says: “The fast processor in the Ambiglow Plus Base analyses the incoming image and adapts the colour and brightness of the light in an instant. The result is a more thrilling and intense viewing experience that moves colour and vibrancy beyond the screen itself.”
The display will be available at the beginning of November at an RRP of £279.99.
Last but not least, Synology has announced the official release of the Surveillance Station 7.1. It features Real-Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP), multicast support, and refined alerts and notifications.
Synology has also added the support of ONVIF profile G and many new camera models. In total there are more than 3,700 cameras are now supported with Surveillance Station 7.1.
