Resellers say IoT is one of the biggest opportunities of 2016, plus Dell UK Partner of the Year revealed

Dell’s seventh annual PartnerDirect Solutions Conference took place in Vienna this week, and the vendor has revealed its latest survey findings and Partner of the Year award winners.

A survey among more than 160 partner attendees conducted by Dell indicates that the majority of its channel partners have had a successful year, with 88 per cent of those surveyed reporting an uplift in sales over the past 12 months and increased spending across a variety of sectors, suggesting that economic recovery continues.

Industries showing particularly positive results included manufacturing, services, technology and the public sector, with 40 per cent of partners seeing improvements across each sector.

Looking ahead, the majority of respondents expect mobile payments (64 per cent) and the Internet of Things (60 per cent) to become mainstream in 2016. Plus, 57 per cent of respondents said that improving security is currently their customers’ main IT priority.

CEO and founder Michael Dell addressed more than 500 Premier and Preferred channel partners and top distributors from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa at the conference.
