As the PC market picks up pace, here’s what’s in store throughout November

October been one of the busiest months I can recall in the UK IT channel, and it’s set to get even busier.

We found out how the smart home is going to change the industry at the Smart Home Summit, got swept up in the PC gaming eSports excitement as the League of Legends World Championship came to Wembley, and we celebrated some of the leading ladies in tech at the PCR Women of the Year awards.

You can read all about the events over the past month in our November issue of PCR – check out the digital edition here.

As well as our own event, I want to highlight some of the other great work helping to promote women and young people in the industry, with the likes of CompTIA’s Advancing Women in IT and Dream IT initiatives, the upcoming ARM Forum which is focusing on the next generation of tech specialists, and TeenTech, led by Maggie Philbin, which aims to inspire teenagers to get a career in the industry.

Elsewhere in October, Tech Data’s Andy Dow gave an interesting talk at the CompTIA EMEACon 2015 about monetising the Internet of Things (IoT ), and urged managed service providers to start working with IoT developers to prepare for change in the industry.

Ingram Micro revealed details of its evolution at its IM One 2015 event, and showed off the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 4, while Northamber signed a host of new vendors at Northamber Expo 15. Utopia Computers also showcased its new line of workstation PCs at the Living Wage Exhibition.

In November, the action continues. We’re hosting our second PCR Boot Camp North conference and expo at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, for a day jam-packed full of essential IT business networking, information and goodies. The event is free for IT retailers, resellers, etailers, system builders and dealers – simply sign up to attend at www.pcrbootcampnorth.com

Elsewhere, there’s the Dell PartnerDirect conference coming up today and tomorrow – which we will be reporting from live, as well as Microsoft Future Decoded (here’s what happened at last year’s show), and not to mention Black Friday on November 27th.

Bookmark the PCR website and you won’t miss a thing.
