Only 200 H-Tower transforming desktop chassis will be built worldwide, due early 2016

In Win’s transformative desktop PC case concept is set to enter production, with just 200 set to be built worldwide.

PCR understands a very small number will make it to the UK, when it is set to arrive in early 2016, potentially at the end of January or February. Just 65 units have been forecast for the whole of Europe.

Its MSRP will be £1,750 including VAT in the UK, and In Win is looking at selling the case through selected retailers.

The firm says there’s been a couple of pre-orders made from the UK already, meaning quantities will be even more limited on our shores.

The reason for the low quantities? It’s not because of low demand, but In Win insists it’s due to being so complicated to build.

"It’s become a bit of a beast and has been delayed internally," In Win’s UK channel sales executive Justin Fletcher told PCR. "It’s going to be built in really small numbers."

The case was first shown off at Computex earlier this year, in conjunction with Asus, with the trade naming it one of the highlights of the show.

It was also shown off at the i55 gaming festival at the UK’s Ricoh Arena. It wowed consumers and channel execs for its unique selling point – at the touch of a button the case automatically folds outwards as the PC raises up to reveal its interior components.

Fletcher previously told PCR about the overwhelming response In Win has seen for the H-Tower.

At this stage, the firm has not officially partnered with any other vendors on the case.

The fact that it’s no longer a concept shows there’s strong demand for the case, but it seems In Win wants to keep it that way – hence the low numbers.

The company is looking ahead and is thinking about the next big product it produces.

"It’s our 30th anniversary next year so there will be something else that will take over from it," Fletcher added. "We’re working on another halo product for next year’s Computex show."

In terms of other products, the In Win 805 and 909 chassis are available in the channel now.
