Industry deals: Westcoast and Synaxon bolster cloud portfolio as Dell receives accolade

Here’s our roundup of the latest distribution and vendor deals in the UK IT channel.

Westcoast boosts cloud offering with new vendor deals

Distributor Westcoast has bolstered its portfolio with the partnership of two vendors, including eFolder’s Cloudfinder and Cirius, in a bid to strengthen its cloud product offering.

Cirius will provide a more enhanced email infrastructure to customers, thanks to its added email encryption, large file sending, OneDrive, SharePoint and Exchange.

In addition, Westcoast’s partnership with eFolder allows customers to have an Office 365 backup, which will cover OneDrive, SharePoint and Exchange.

Mark Davies, cloud services director for Westcoast, added: “Continuity and security are critical in the minds of most customers when taking cloud based services.

“Cirius and eFolder compliment the service wrap around Office 365 and strengthen the security already available with the package. We’ve tested them extensively ourselves and love the flexibility and ease of use that partners and their customers look for.”

Synaxon offers new cloud services by partnering with Exponential-e

Dealer services group Synaxon UK has formed a partnership with Exponential-e, to help provide its members with a wide range of cloud-based services.

Exponential-e works with managed services providers, as well as value-added resellers and system integrators, providing secure private cloud services and business applications.

In addition, the vendor offers virtual data centres and private, wide-area network solutions, as well as desktop-as-service (DaaS), infrastructure-as-service (IaaS), online backup, business continuity and disaster recovery services.

Derek Jones, MD of Synaxon, commented: “We see this as a landmark agreement for Synaxon and one that underlines our commitment to helping our resellers to take their business in new directions.

“This agreement takes us onto another level by making a tried and tested suite of cloud services that are underpinned by world-class connectivity available to members and giving them the opportunity to accelerate the transition of their business.”

Michala Hart, head of channel strategy for Exponential-e, added: “We are always looking to build new partnerships with resellers and MSPs that are looking to provide cloud services and meet end-user concerns over the security and privacy of their data.”

Exertis crowned Dell Enterprise Distie of the Year

Exertis has been named Dell Enterprise Distributor of the Year at the 2015 Dell UK Enterprise Partner Awards in London last week.

The award recognised the distributor’s success in driving the tech vendor’s enterprise solutions, which cover storage, server and networking.

The event, which took place on October 16th at the Savoy Hotel in London, attracted around 100 guests who joined together to witness the ceremony.

Gareth Bray, solutions general manager at Exertis, said: “I’m delighted to receive this award and am hugely proud of the team. I’d like to thank our reseller partners who made this possible and look forward to improving our offering over the next year, as we expand our services particularly around networking and storage.”

Dell previously announced its partnership with Exertis earlier this year. The vendor has been known to sell its products to consumers directly, but the new deal bought its range of products back to retail.
