Brother aims to grow scanner market share with new appointment

Printer vendor Brother has announced the appointment of Nicola Willis, who will take on the role as business manager for scanner products.

The new appointment comes as Brother hopes to grow its share of the scanner market, which Willis will help spearhead.

With 12 years’ experience at Canon UK, where she lead channel partner development, Willis has buillt up a significant understanding of the marketplace and its key drivers.

At Brother, Willis will head up the new Scanner Solutions Partner Programme, which is an initiative that aims to support channel businesses in selling Brother’s range of products, including desktop, compact and portable scanners.

Andrew Forsyth, sales and marketing director at Brother UK, said: “The scanner market is growing at around 15 per cent every year on average – representing a huge opportunity for mutual growth for Brother and our partners.

“It’s an exciting time for scanner services, given the range of end-user businesses that are examining their workflow and digitisation requirements.

“Nicola’s appointment will help us further tap into this opportunity. Her exceptional experience, contacts, and knowledge of the scanner market will help us to build a larger base of channel partners that, through our support and assistance, can continue to drive our collective position.”

Sales of Brother’s overall scanner range grew by 34 per cent last year, and the firm says that the appointment is a key milestone in Brother’s strategy for the scanner market.

Brother has also recently expanded its portfolio with the launch of its new Professional Document Scanner (PDS) range earlier this year, with more updates to follow later this year.
