Distie announcement roundup: CMS ups focus on software, Target gains VTX3D exclusivity

CMS Distribution, Target Components and The Change Organisation have made new distribution agreements.

CMS Distribution’s software push

CMS is extending its software portfolio, strengthening its security and storage footprint and is taking its first steps into the cloud by partnering with The Bunker.

The Bunker provides secure hosting, cloud, colocation and IT within the UK’s "most secure and highly available ISO27001, IGSoC, PCI DSS accredited IT infrastructure and cloud services from within state of the art ex-Ministry of Defence nuclear bombproof fortresses".

CMS Distribution says it has invested heavily in its software team over the past six months – increasing headcount within the team.

Tierna Henry, group software manager at CMS Distribution, said: “We will be focusing more and more on our software portfolio. We have just entered into a partnership with Barracuda and a few more security focused partners are also waiting in the wings. The Bunker allows CMS Distribution to not only strengthen its security and storage footprint, but to take one of its first steps into the cloud.”

Target teams up with VTX3D

Target Components has been appointed exclusive UK distributor by AMD graphics card manufacturer VTX3D.

The distributor now carries the entire VTX3D catalogue of graphics cards including the HD4540 and R7 low profile cards, as well as the latest R9 Nano small form factor card that will fit into most standard micro-ATX and mini-ITX cases.

Simon Hogg, Target’s head of purchasing, explained: “VTX3D produces a really high-quality range of AMD cards, with all the bells-and-whistles like factory-overclocking and multiple monitor support, yet the opportunity with VTX3D is that the brand offers greater margins to resellers than higher-profile brands, for the same spec.”

"And when you’ve got the latest cards, like the R9 Nano that people are crying out for when other manufacturers are reporting little or no stock in the channel, it’s a great opportunity to prove just how good the brand actually is.”

The VTX3D range will also be included in Target’s In-Store PC Builder and Custom PC Builder configurators which allow resellers to design PCs from scratch, with all components pre-checked for compatibility.

Change gains UK distie rights for Triumph Board

Distributor of AV and IT hardware, The Change Organisation, has secured a deal with Czech Republic-based manufacturer Triumph Board to exclusively distribute the company’s interactive presentation and AV equipment in the UK and Ireland.

“This announcement comes at an exciting time for the company as we look to further strengthen our position in the UK and Irish markets,” said Simon Bethel, head of AV at The Change. “Our partnership with Triumph Board will open up new market opportunities and help us to deliver an even higher standard of audio visual and presentation equipment.”

Specialising in interactive whiteboards and interactive flat panel display solutions, Triumph Board’s products include multi-touch tablets to the new 55”, 65”, 70” and 84” interactive flat panel displays.

Triumph Board CEO Ondrej Kryspin added: “Our intention is not only to provide quality Triumph products, but also to provide premium support from a local authorised partner whom is fully trained by us. The Change Organisation fulfills our required high standards in providing excellent support and will be a great improvement for Triumph Board distribution in UK.“
