CompTIA joins PCR Women of the Year as event partner

IT trade association CompTIA has secured its place as event partner for the upcoming PCR Women of the Year event.

Taking place at Sway Bar in London on October 16th, the event aims to shine the spotlight on some of the most influential women in the UK tech industry.

A board of judges will be responsible for picking the winners from the four main categories, including Rising Star, Marketing and PR, Sales and Woman of the Year.

Nancy Hammervik, senior VP industry relations at CompTIA (who gave a talk at last year’s event), said: “PCR’s Woman of the Year Award recognises the very best talent in the industry, and CompTIA is exceptionally proud to be supporting this initiative.

“Role models like last year’s winner Sarah Shields are so important in showing young women the breadth of opportunities that jobs in technology offer, and the achievements that are possible in this space.”

CompTIA’s UK channel community director Estelle Johannes also previously revealed plans to close the IT skills gap with the company’s Dream IT initiative, which is part of CompTIA’s plans to advance more women in IT.

Hammervik added: “CompTIA is launching Dream IT in the UK this autumn, to get more female technology leaders in front of young people. It is only through celebrating female leaders that we can inspire that next generation, address skills shortages and improve diversity in IT.”

CompTIA joins PCR Women of the Year headline partner Zaboura as sponsors of the event.

Tickets to the event are £59 (plus VAT) and this will include free drinks and nibbles – click here to book tickets.
