Apple Watch wearers share ‘burn’ images on social media

Apple has gained some more publicity this week thanks to its Apple Watch, although the company may not be too happy with the exposure.

Apple Watch wearers have taken to social media to share their photos of burns and rashes caused by the device.

One wearer tweeted on Twitter: “Not worn my Apple Watch today, yet there seems to be some sort of burn. Anyone else got this too ?”

While another user also tweeted: “wtf? My Apple Watch has burnt a hole in my wrist!!”, along with an image of a rash across his wrist.

Apple is yet to comment on the news, but a statement on the firm’s support page reveals that some users may experience reactions due to the material used in the manufacturing process.

The company states on the website: “A small number of people will experience reactions to certain materials. This can be due to allergies, environmental factors, extended exposure to irritants like soap or sweat, and other causes.”

Despite the fact that some users have experienced rashes, Apple says it has developed the watch ‘ensuring that all materials adhere to existing regulations’.

This news comes after new figures revealed that the activity tracker Fitbit has outsold the Apple Watch.

In addition, Apple is also allegedly planning its second Apple Watch, which may launch in 2016.
