Mirror’s Edge Catalyst dated, plus the rest of EA’s news from E3 2015

The follow-up to 2008 free-running game Mirror’s Edge will be released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on February 23rd 2016.

The highly-anticipated game was billed as as a prequel to the first game, telling the origin story of Mirror’s Edge protagonist Faith.

Other key anouncements from the EA press conference were:

  • MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic is getting an expansion in the form of Knights of the Fallen Empire on October 27th.
  • The follow-up to third-person shooter spin-off Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare will be released in spring 2016.
  • The next game in the Mass Effect franchise – Mass Effect Andromeda – is in development and will be released at Christmas 2016.
  • A new new, as yet untitled, Need for Speed game is in the workls and will be released on November 3rd.

And, although it wasn’t part of the EA press conference, a new trailer for Star Wars Battlefront has been released ahead of more news for that title during the show – you can check out the clip here:
