Roccat signs Heroes of the Storm eSports team

German peripheral manufacturer Roccat has signed Well Met as its sponsored eSports team for Blizzard’s latest MOBA game Heroes of the Storm.

The competitive PC gaming team is currently ranked number one in the European ESL Major League Season, and managed to achieve a 70 per cent win rate last month.

Well Met has two former StarCraft II pros in Socke and HasuObs, both from Germany, as well as teammates ShadowmaRex (Germany), sportbilly (Croatia) and Survol_T (France).

The new players will be part of Team Roccat alongside the League of Legends division and SCII veteran HyuN.

Markus Frey, Head of Marketing at Roccat, said: “We believe in the potential of Heroes of the Storm as an eSports title and we think this team has an especially good composition.

"Having two experienced players who know how to perform under pressure in tournaments and important games helps a lot”.

New Team Roccat player HasuObs added: “This is a great opportunity for us. Having the support of Roccat lets us focus on the game 100 per cent so we can constantly improve our gameplay and tactics. Also, on a competitive level, you require the best gear out there and Roccat certainly delivers – we can’t wait to have our fist talks with the engineers about upcoming products."

Roccat is a big player in eSports – while it started off sponsoring teams as one of several brands, in 2014 it began sponsoring entire squads as Team Roccat, giving it more exposure with gamers.
