Nvidia VR headset with built-in GPU, CPU and memory in the works?

A new patent has revealed that Nvidia is planning to develop its own virtual reality headset.

The head-mounted display will include built-in CPU, GPU and memory. It will also have six cameras and two displays, one for each eye, according to the patent.

Two of the cameras will point forwards, two down, one left and the other right. The two pointing down will be able to track the wearer’s gestures, suggesting that they will be able to physically interact with the virtual environment.

While it seems that this kind of device may be being built with gamers in mind, we recently spoke to Samsung’s head of marketing, Phil Oldham, about how virtual reality is going to penetrate the business sector and how devices such as VR headsets can be used to enhance sales pitches.
