Lenovo has unveiled a streaming device at its Tech World event to rival the Google Chromecast.
The Lenovo Cast is priced at $49 (£32) – the media streaming device connects to a TV via its HDMI port and streams content from phones and tablets onto the bigger screen.
Lenovo says that unlike other casting devices, Lenovo Cast "ensures seamless streaming thanks to its dual frequency WiFi and its ability to transfer content up to 20 metres, even sending the signal through walls. And it’s not limited to just sharing videos. It mirrors any content users have on their smartphones."

Lenovo unveils the new ThinkPad 10
The tablet boasts a battery life of nearly 10 hours, a 5MP camera and a WUXGA 1920×1200 IPS touch display. It also comes with the ThinkPad Pen Pro stylus.
The ThinkPad 10 will be available in EMEA from September 2015 starting at approximately £405.
Two new SAN devices revealed
The Lenovo Storage S2200 and S3200, were also showcased during the event, which have been designed to help users integrate into various network environments.
Moto Maker
The firm also revealed that its Moto Maker online design studio is now available in China. Customers can now design their own customised Moto X smartphones with the studio and receive them after a few days.
Microsoft deal
Lenovo also announced a new partnership with tech giant Microsoft, which will deliver an enhanced Cortana and REACHit experience for Lenovo Windows devices.
Lenovo’s REACHit extends the search capabilities of Cortana for Windows 10 devices with the help of REACHit’s ability to search for content across a range of connected Lenovo devices.
This news comes after Lenovo unveiled three new laptops yesterday. The Z51 and Z41 offer customers high-end capabilities, while the firm also launched an affordable laptop, dubbed the Ideapad 100.
