Acer’s corporate VP and EMEA president Emmanuel Fromont (pictured) has said that the firm is hoping to expand its presence in eSports.
Speaking exclusively to PCR at the company’s New York press event, Fromont said: “I think you’ll see us very aggressive there and wanting to shake the category a little bit.”
The company’s eSports team currently consists of six players, and Acer has revealed it plans to integrate it more fully into its gaming approach.
Fromont added: “It’s a place where I feel my competitors have not seen enough of us, so sometimes it’s good to have places where you don’t just have to defend, but you can go and attack too."
Acer also unveiled its line up of new Predator gaming devices during the event, including a tablet, monitor, desktop and notebook.
The majority of the line won’t be available until Q3 2015.
Acer also showcased its new back-to-school range, featuring the Iconia Tab 10, the Switch 10 E and Switch 10.
