5,000 businesses apparently signed a letter asking for the Conservatives to be given another chance in the next general election, but one tech firm on the list says it never signed it.
Aurum Solutions, a software provider, has tweeted that its company director did not sign the letter and has since asked for its name to be removed form the list.
Helen Belcher, MD of Aurum Solutions, wrote on Twitter: “.@Telegraph My Sales Director did not sign "the letter" (at position 413). Please remove his name and our company details immediately.”
Business entrepreneur Karen Brady arranged the letter, which was published by The Daily Telegraph.
In the letter, business owners said: “ We would like to see David Cameron and George Osbourne given the chance to finish what they have started. A change now would be far too risky.”
According to The Guardian, reports have also stated that the author of the letter, which was featured in an article online by The Guardian, was actually CCHQ-Admin – Conservative campaign headquarters.
Earlier this month, several tech companies backed the Tories in an open letter.
