Distributor outlines Intelligent Configuration Engine

Exertis online tool lets resellers price servers and workstations

Distributor Exertis has announced the launch of its Intelligent Configuration Engine (ICE) – an online tool that helps resellers quote and price server and workstation configurations.

Resellers can pull up a detailed quote, product information, price and stock availability in a few minutes.

Initially supporting server and workstation solutions from Exertis partners including Dell, Fujitsu and Lenovo, by the summer it will be extended to include storage solutions from multiple manufacturers.

The tool can also correct configurations when an incompatible or invalid selection is made, plus it can alert users to complementary components they can consider offering their customers.

Third party lines such as Microsoft Operating Systems and Tandberg backup software are also available through ICE.

Exertis is guaranteeing that a server built from stock online prior to 12pm can be delivered to a reseller or their end user the next business day. If ordered after 12pm, Exertis will guarantee to deliver between 24 and 48 hours.

ICE also acts as a marketing portal – Exertis reseller partners can download datasheets, high-resolution images, installation guides and user manuals.

Gareth Bray, general manager for server and storage, said: “Exertis is renowned for creating new propositions and tools that make life easier and more rewarding for its reseller partners. ICE is the latest development in our on-going strategy to cater for their needs, not least at a time when speed and accuracy of response can be key elements for securing a successful outcome.

"ICE puts the most popular server and workstation solutions at our reseller partners’ finger tips, giving them a distinct, competitive advantage.”
