PXS and Exertis take on more smart products

Tech disties predict home automation boom

Tech distributors are starting to back the growing home automation sector.

Exertis and PXS to name a few have already started to incorporate such products into their portfolio, from smart home cameras to smoke alarms.

A MarketsandMarkets report suggests that the home automation industry will be worth $13.81 billion by 2020.

With successful advertising campaigns including the Nest Campaign, it’s no wonder distributors are starting to take notice.

Rod Slater, business manager at Exertis, said: “Exertis have been developing the Smart Technology range we have today for the last 18 months, working with start-ups through their Crowd Funding campaigns to the point we are at today with products launched or about to be launched.

“It’s a very exciting time for everyone involved and as markets go, I’ve not come across a market as dynamic, competitive, collaborative and innovative as this one, in over twenty years of being involved in business development.”

Some brands Exertis currently works with and supplies to UK retail include Nest Labs, LIFX, Belkin, Piper and iSmartAlarm.

PXS distribution is also starting to see the growth in this sector, and is keen to offer customers new products.

Robert Hall, MD of PXS Distribution, added: “We are hoping to add a vendor who is a specialist in the home automation field shortly.

“We recognize that this is an exciting growth area and we are looking forward to being able to offer our customers these new technologies”

The sector is set to continue to boom, which Exertis believes will hold a very interesting future.

“This market has legs and will be around for a while to come and we are already starting to see key ecosystems appear that outline an interesting future for everyone involved,” concludes Slater.
