Plus, distributor is offering installation on Tripp Lite uninterruptible power supplies

Exertis to supply smart connected Yeelight lamps and strips

Tech distributor Exertis has announced the launch of Yeelight in the UK, plus it is offering free installation on Tripp Lite uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).

Exertis will be supplying resellers with Yeelight connected lamps and strips for smart home and commercial lighting projects. A free Yeelight app enables users to control this lighting from any smart device.

Exertis is targeting the Yeelight products – which boast software-based colour mixing and dimming – at the home automation, health and education sectors.

Boasting what Exertis says are ‘market-leading’ LED chips, each light bulb delivers 500 lumens across the full spectrum of white light and the range of 16 million colours. They also boast big energy savings compared to traditional lightbulbs, reducing electricity usage by up to 85 per cent.

Yeelight also remembers its settings when powered off from the source. Once set up with the app, it can be turned on and off using conventional lighting controls.

Examples of its solutions include Blue, a multi-coloured Bluetooth LED bulb, and the Smart Lightstrip, which uses Bluetooth low energy technology to create an atmosphere using 2m smart light strips. Users can also bend, flex or cut this type of light as they wish.

For those who need to control their Smart LED lighting anywhere, there is the Sunflower. This starter pack includes one WiFi bridge and three Sunflower Smart bulbs which are self-configured.

Rod Slater, Exertis’ smart home business manager, said:“Yeelight is a terrific product for our reseller partners. With our lighting and home automation knowledge and services, combined with their personal touch, we have a compelling proposition that will help them target both consumers and businesses alike."

Ben Allcock, Yeelight’s UK sales director, added: “Yeelight has experienced phenomenal growth over the past 12 months with an exciting range of Smart LED Wireless lighting products. Partnering with a distributor who share the same passion and desire to grow this technology and represent our brand in the right way was essential."

In other news, Exertis is offering an exclusive limited-time arrangement with Tripp Lite to provide free UPS installation on any Tripp Lite orders placed by the end of April 2015.

Tripp Lite will perform this service – which can be worth up to £800 – for customers purchasing selected rack-mounted UPS in the 2200VA to 10KVA range from Exertis.

To take advantage of the offer, an Exertis reseller partner – or the reseller’s customer – needs to contact Tripp Lite UK with a valid PO/order confirmation. Tripp Lite will then schedule an installation appointment.

Peter Airs, country manager for Tripp Lite UK, said: “Because of the difficulty installing UPSs, the typical costs are anything from £150 to £800. In recognition of this, under the terms of this offer, any UPS purchased in March or April will have a professional, Tripp Lite certified installation services team install the UPS and take away any packaging.

"We’re really excited to be able to offer this service and to take that challenge and cost away from Exertis’ resellers.”
