PCR Awards 2015: Intel picks up top Grand Prix award

Intel has been awarded the biggest accolade at the 2015 PCR Awards.

The Grand Prix Award is the most prestigious prize of the night and honours a company or brand which has had an outstanding past 12 months. And this year the PCR editorial team chose Intel as the winner.

This firm is a true innovator, supplying some of the biggest computer companies in the world with powerful processors and other new technology. It’s working on improving in-car tech, smaller form factor computing such as the micro PC, and has made a number of acquisitions over the past year to further advancements in wearables and the connected home. 

On the gaming side, the firm organises its own IEM eSports tournaments every year, bringing professional players together from across the globe. It even plans to double the number of women working in the gaming industry.

Looking at the balance sheet for 2014, the firm had a record year, reporting full-year revenue of almost $56 billion, and a rise in overall profit to boot, along with a 19 per cent increase in revenue for the growing Internet of Things market.

The Grand Prix award was handed to Intel by Entatech’s Dave Stevinson (pictured, left).

Intel was also voted the Computing Vendor of the Year at the 2015 PCR Awards, giving it two big honours on the night.
