New MacBook is thinnest ever; Apple Watch price and release date revealed

Apple has revealed a brand new MacBook – its thinnest ever – which has just one USB-C port and no internal fan.

Apple says the 12-inch retina laptop is the "most energy efficient notebook in the world" and the first "all-metal MacBook", and it has a higher resolution than its MacBook Air range.

It is 13.1mm thick and weighs 2lbs.

The new MacBook boasts ‘all-day battery life’, Bluetooth, WiFi, and the keyboard even has force feedback, while the single USB port is for charging, video output and data transfer.

It will be priced at $1,299 in the US and around £1,049 in the UK when it launches on April 10th. There’s even a gold version available.

Apple also revealed the price and release date for its upcoming Apple Watch wearable smart device at a press event yesterday evening.

It will launch on April 24th and will be priced from $349 to $17,000 in the US, and from £299 to £13,500 in the UK.

The smartwatch will come in 1.5-inch and 1.7-inch variants, while a high-end solid gold ‘Edition’ version will set users back between $10,000 and $17,000.

The stainless steel modeil will cost from $549 to $1,099 in the US, and from £479 to £949 in the UK.

Apple says it will have an ‘all-day’ battery life of up to 18 hours on average. However, when pairing with an iPhone to take calls, talk time is just three hours. When listening to audio, battery life is up to 6.5 hours.

The minimal Power Reserve mode allows the user to see the time for up to 72 hours, while a full charge will take two and a half hours.

The Apple Watch was originally unveiled last year.
