The UK has seen a growth in volume sales of notebooks, desktops and PCs by 19.1 per cent.
The UK saw the year-on-year growth in January 2015, while Spain and Austria saw a growth of 19.3 per cent 29.1 per cent respectively.
According to analyst Context, Western European distribution increased by 9.5 per cent overall in January 2015.
Sales of consumer targeted PCs were up by 12.4 per cent in early 2015 in Western Europe, following a 24.1 per cent rise in the last quarter of 2014. Volume sales of business-targeted PCs also increased by 6.5 per cent in January following an increase of 15.1 per cent in Q4 2014.
Marie-Christine, senior analyst at Context, said: “The strong Q4 sell-in of budget notebooks and Bing laptops not only benefited consumer sales in the channel in January but also helped to push volume growth in the business segment.
“Nearly 16 per cent of business-targeted notebooks going through distribution in January were based on Bing."
Average PC prices across distribution are also expected to increase as a result of the recent Euro/US dollar exchange rate.
