LG set to unveil latest smartwatch

Samsung takes LG exec to court over alleged washing machine vandalism

An LG executive has reportedly been accused of vandalising Samsung washing machines at a trade show last year.

Jo Seong-Jin, head of the home appliance and air solution division at LG, has been indicted on charges of deliberately damaging four Samsung Crystal Blue washing machines.

Earlier this year Samsung filed a lawsuit for property damages and defamation after the IFA trade show in Berlin.

According to Cnet, Samsung provided CCTV footage allegedly showing Seong-Jin damaging the appliance.

Ham Yoon-Keun, a lawyer who will be defending Seong-Jin in court, said in a statement: “It is questionable whether there is sufficient evidence to prove that the president of a global company deliberately destroyed the machines where employees of the competing company were present.

“The truth will be revealed in the courts."

Two other employees are also allegedly guilty of sabotaging Samsung products.

In other LG news, the company is set to unveil its Watch Urbane, the latest smartwatch that features a plastic OLED display.

It runs on Android Wear and comes with a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor.

Other specs include 4GB of memory, 512MB of RAM, a 1.3-inch display and a 410mAH battery.
