10 ways the pre-owned tablet market has changed

CompareMyMobile has released its 2014 phone and tablet trade-in market report, showing that the iPad Air 2 was the top depreciating tablet.

Here are 10 facts from the report outlining how pre-owned tablets have changed.

1) The top traded-in tablet brands line up with the top traded-in devices too – with Apple iPads making up 73.85 per cent of all tablet trade-ins.

2) Samsung’s devices made up 9.72 per cent of all tablet trade-ins in 2014

3) Google’s devices made up 8.2 per cent of all tablet tablet trade-ins in 2014.

4) Samsung and Google have seen a slight increase in tablet trade-ins when compared to 2014.

5) The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Google’s Nexus 5 16GB (2013 version) were the top traded-in Android tablets of this year.

6) Other lesser known tablets such as BlackBerry’s PlayBook also made the top traded-in list, as people upgraded to more popular brands.

7) Top tablet PC models released last year made CompareMyMobile’s top depreciating tablets 2014, including the Apple iPad Mini and the Google Nexus 7.

8) Apple’s iPad Air was the most valuable tablet PC in 2014, with a top value of £374.

9) All of Samsung’s tablet PC models had a top trade-in value of £170 or less.

10) The top traded in OS of 2014 was Android with a share of 48.24 per cent, closely followed by iOs with 37.98 per cent.
