Retailers Currys and PC World unveiled their top ten Christmas 2014 best-seller predictions earlier this year – here’s our look back at the list plus an image gallery.
Topping the overall list are wearables such as the smart watch Samsung Gear Fit and the fitness tech band Fitbit Force.
Rupert Nichols, Head of Mobile Computing and Connectivity at Currys & PC World, commented: “Customers are focusing on their health and fitness more than ever before and portable technology is very much the future, as busy customers want to be able to do more things remotely and conveniently.
"We have seen a steady rise in sales of wearable technology but we expect to sell a lot more units this Christmas as everyone will want to trim up in the New Year.”
Other devices in the list include the high-speed blender and juicer NutriBullet, and the KitchenAid stand mixer.
The GoPro action camera and Google Chromecast streaming dongle are also included within the top ten, as is the iPad Mini and Sonos Multi Room System.
Simon Exton, Head of Category for Computing at Currys & PC World, added: “We’ve noticed that connected devices are increasing in popularity this year. Consumers are looking for that something extra that makes their lives even easier to lead, and smart products like the Chromecast tick all the boxes.”
