New product roundup: StarTech Thunderbolt 2, Mad Catz fight stick, Spo-comm mini PC

PCR rounds up the latest new releases from the tech market.

This week Synology has released two NAS models, the DS3615xs and DS2015xs.

The eight-bay DS2015xs comes with built-in 10GbE SFP+ LAN ports, designed for small and medium businesses.

For large-scale businesses, Synology has developed the 12-bay DS3615xs NAS. The DS2015xs and DS3615xs can be scaled up to a raw capacity of 120TB and 216TB respectively by connecting DX1215 expansion units.

StarTech has also launched its first quad-bay Thunderbolt 2 RAID enclosure, which allows users to create an external four-drive RAID.

It has twice the speed of the original Thunderbolt and HyperDuo support for near-SSD performance at HDD capacities. It also features a built-in Thunderbolt daisy chain port and is compatible with SATA revisions I/II/III. The Thunderbolt 2 will be available from Entatech, Ingram Micro and Exertis for £450.

In addition, Mad Catz is launching the Ultra Street Fighter IV FightStick for PS4.

It is a tournament edition fighting game controller that features a three-way button functionality, which enables the joystick to function as a left or right stick or D-pad.

The FightStick also comes with a Japanese-style Sanwa Denshi joystick and buttons.

Branch, a new portable tablet viewing stand, has been released on Kickstarter.

The stand comes with a patented V-shaped base that can slide under your mattress, plus it can also standalone on a desk and can be customised for a particular viewing angle or height.

Elsewhere, Spo-comm has also unveiled its spo-book FLEX Q87, a mini PC with a desktop CPU.

It features an Intel Core i7 Haswell desktop CPU as well as Intel HD graphics. It comes with up to 16GB of RAM and has a screen resolution of 3840×2160, plus a range of connectors are included: two display ports, four USB 3.0 ports and four USB 2.0 ports.
