Consumer-targeted PCs saw the largest sales growth

PC sales grow by 15% in UK

Volume sales of PCs, including notebooks, desktops and workstations, have grown by 14.5 per cent in the UK.

According to analyst Context, sales grew by +16.9% during the first seven weeks of Q4 2014 across Western European distribution.

Business targeted PCs were up by 6.9 percent year-on-year in early Q4 2014, with a 14.9 per cent increase in notebooks.

Marie-Christine Pygott, senior analyst at Context, said: “Growth was predominantly driven by a +25.4 per cent year-on-year increase in sales of consumer-targeted PCs, which benefited from a continuous push in low-cost budget notebooks during the early holiday period.”

Other countries also saw an increase in sales, including Germany, which saw an increase of 12.3 per cent while Italy had an increase of 13.2 per cent.

Similarly, Spain and France had an increase of 37.4 per cent and 20.4 per cent respectively.
