Tablet-hybrid will feature an SSD and 4th-gen Intel core processor

LG plans to take on Microsoft with Surface Pro 3 rival

LG is allegedly working on a new tablet-hybrid, similar to Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3.

The tablet is said to have a detachable keyboard that will function as a laptop once it’s attached and a tablet without.

Reports also suggest that it will be powered by an Intel fourth-generation core processor and will have a solid state drive.

According to CNET, LG is also considering a touchpad system on the keyboard, much like the Surface Pro 3.

This is not the first time the firm has tried to crack the hybrid-tablet market, after launching the Tab-Book last year.

The device featured a slide-out Qwerty keyboard, which appeared once users pressed a button on the side of the Tab-Book.

This news comes after the firm revealed it has doubled its profits thanks to record smartphone sales.
