Users will also be able to transfer their SIM card back

Apple launches online tool to deregister iMessage

Apple has released a new online tool for users to deregister their phone number from iMessage, once they switch to a non-Apple device.

To deregister a phone number from iMessage users can enter their phone number into Apple’s web tool.

They will then receive a text message containing a code, which they will need to submit to complete the process.

Users who also still have their original iPhone can transfer their SIM card back to the device by going to their messaging settings to turn iMessage off.

Users who were switching from an iPhone to another device were often unable to receive SMS messages from another iPhone due to their phone number still being linked to iMessage.

This app aims to stop this problem from recurring.

Users can begin the process here.

This news comes after Apple reavealed the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus earlier this year.
