Tech Data to distribute Google’s Nexus 9 tablet

Tech Data has been appointed as HTC’s distributor for the launch of the new Nexus 9 tablet.

HTC and Google have partnered to create the Nexus 9 tablet, which is the first device to run on Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Adam Gay, head of development, tablet and CE at Tech Data, said: “We see a major opportunity to develop the potential of the new Nexus 9 in both the consumer and B2B markets.

“We have a strong strategic plan in the consumer market, which we are executing on successfully, and we have a very well-established position in the business market and with the enhanced apps performance and features of this exciting new tablet, we believe we can grow Nexus 9 sales in both sectors.”

The Nexus 9 features a 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 2.3Ghz processor, a 1.6MP front camera and an 8MP rear camera and a 2K screen with a 2048×1536 resolution.

The Nexus 9 will be available to order from Tech Data with immediate effect.

This news comes after Google unveiled its latest range of Nexus devices, including the Nexus 6 smartphone and the Nexus player.
