Microsoft launches ‘cloud in a box’

Microsoft has teamed up with Dell, to bring businesses ‘cloud in a box’.

The Microsoft Cloud Platform System (CPS), powered by Dell, brings together Azure, Windows Server and Microsoft System Center to deliver an ‘Azure-consistent cloud in a box’.

CPS, which features pre-integrated hardware form Dell and software from Microsoft, aims to deliver learnings from Azure to customers and partners.

Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, said: “The enterprises of today and tomorrow demand a cloud platform that is reliable, scalable and flexible.

“With more than 80 per cent of the Fortune 500 on the Microsoft cloud, we are delivering the industry’s most complete cloud – for every business, every industry and every geography.”

CPS will be available to purchase on November 3rd.

PCR also conducted a cloud roundtable with retailers and members from Microsoft, which you can check out within the upcoming November issue.
