The Philips 272G5DYEB Nvidia G-Sync monitor will launch in the UK at the end of October with a suggested retail price of £499.
The 27-inch product has a refresh rate of 144 Hz and updates the screen content nearly two and a half times more often than a standard monitor.
By letting the GPU control the refresh, this allows it to redraw the screen image up to 144 times per second. It also has a response time of 1 ms GTG and Full HD support.
It promises to deliver better performance than the DVI standard, supporting cables of up to 15 meters in length and data transfer rates of 21.6 Gbps, with USB 3.0 ports on the monitor too.
Nvidia’s G-Sync monitors promise to reduce screen tear and stuttering from games. It has already partook in a word of words with rival AMD over the emerging tech sector, after AMD said its own upcoming ‘FreeSync’ monitors would be cheaper than Nvidia’s when they arrive next year.
Nvidia responded to AMD’s FreeSync claims with the following: "We can’t comment on the pricing of products that don’t exist."
