Phones 4U concession stands will be rebranded to Dixons Carphone

Dixons Carphone to save 800 Phones 4U jobs

Dixons Carphone has announced that it has reached a deal with Phones 4U’s administrators to offer jobs to 800 of its employees.

At the beginning of the week Dixons Carphone revealed that it hoped to offer jobs to concession workers. The firm has now been able to confirm that those employees working at the 160 Phones 4U concession stands found in Dixons’ Currys and PC World stores will be offered positions.

The staff will continue to work at the concessions, which will be rebranded to Dixons Carphone. However, there are still thousands of other employees waiting to find out their fate.

Dixons Carphone tweeted the news about the concession workers today also adding that there are further roles available nationwide at Carphone and Dixons.

Phones 4U went into administration after its two biggest partners, Vodafone and EE, decided not to renew their contracts with the retailer.

Both mobile phone networks have since revealed an interest in buying parts of Phones 4U’s assets.
