Microsoft has made changes to its UK Partner Network, with a bigger focus on the cloud.
"The cloud market opportunity will reach $108 billion by 2017, and the Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) wants to help you take advantage of that future," Microsoft said in a surprisingly lengthy blog post, which it apologised for.
"In order to achieve this we’re refreshing our programme to incorporate a greater hybrid and cloud focus. The changes will take effect at the end of September."
There have been changes made to various technical assessments, exams and certifications, for application development, communications, application integration, customer relationship management, data platform (for both silver and gold competencies) and more.
Some competencies have been renamed, too, such as ‘The Small Business competency’, which has become a cloud-focused competency and will be renamed ‘Small and Midmarket Cloud Solutions’. Partners will be able to earn these competencies by providing customer references and by meeting specific sales performance requirements (Office 365 seats sold and customer adds).
