Mark Williams, CEO of IT solutions provider Pensar, talks about doubling business revenues, helping oversee companies set up in the UK and one client’s unfortunate typo.
What products and services do you offer?
Pensar is an IT solutions provider that delivers technology consultancy, services, products and support for both Microsoft and Apple infrastructures on-premise, in the cloud, and on mobile.
We provide a full outsourced service for businesses that either don’t employ their own IT people or that need access to particular areas of expertise.
Who are your customers?
The customer base is mostly professional services companies but we have focus and expertise with marketing, advertising and PR agencies and financial services firms. We also lend our 18 years of experience to overseas businesses looking to set up successfully in the UK.
How has business been?
Following a doubling of revenues from 2009 to 2012, growth tailed off somewhat in 2013. However since last November, and with continued positive economic news, I think many businesses are gaining in confidence and I fully expect more growth to come for both Pensar and its clients.
What’s coming up in 2014?
We have restructured our business and introduced many new processes aimed at supporting growth. We’ve also spent some time finding niche products and services that we an introduce to our clients. The number of new business enquiries is increasing nicely.
What’s the best thing about what you do?
I like the constant change in our industry. There is never one day the same as another, so little chance of getting bored. I’ve been in the industry a long time now and I’ve met some fantastic people.
What’s the funniest customer request you’ve ever had?
A client once emailed in with the support request: “Please take out your dick from the old laptop and clean it completely before disposal.” An unfortunate typo on the word ‘disk’…
What are the benefits of trade organisations like Synaxon?
