The Pro x2 612 features a standalone tablet and the choice of two detachable keyboards

HP showcases detachable PC and new Elite 700 devices for business users

HP has released its first commercial detachable PC, the Pro x2 612, aimed exclusively at enterprise users.

Unveiled at Computex 2014, the Pro x2 612 features a 12.5-inch diagonal display, Intel Core i3/i5 processors, HP BIOS, HP Client Security, HP Sure Start, smart card reader, HP TPM, and optional fingerprint reader.

The device features a standalone tablet, which can be attached to a full-size Power Keyboard with embedded battery. The keyboard features VGA, RJ-45, DisplayPort, two USB 3.0 ports and a side docking connector for optional HP UltraSlim dock.

The tablet and the keyboard both feature a battery. The tablet offers eight hours and 15 minutes of life, whereas the device can run for 14 hours and 15 minutes with the keyboard and tablet combined.

Users can also choose a battery-free keyboard which comes with a USB 3.0 port, combo audio jack and a power connector for more mobility.

The HP Pro x2 612 is expected to be available in September.

HP also unveiled the HP Elite 700 series of PCs, the newest additions to the Elite range.

Designed for transactional and SMB customers, the Elite 700 series with AMD includes:

  • The 12.5-inch HP EliteBook 725 with HD or FHD optional touchscreen display and optional 4G LTE.
  • The 14-inch HP EliteBook 745 with HD, HD+ or FHD display, including a touch-enabled option.
  • The 15.6-inch HP EliteBook 755 with HD, FHD or FHD display, including a touch-enabled option.

The HP EliteBook 700 series with Intel includes:

  • The HP EliteBook 720 with HD, HD pmium or HD pmium touch display.
  • The HP EliteBook 740 Ultrabook with HD, HD+, HD+ touch or FHD screen.
  • The 15-inch HP EliteBook 750 includes Ultrabook models and features HD, FHD or FHD touch.

The HP Elite 700 series desktop PCs with AMD includes:

  • The 23-inch HP EliteOne 700 All-in-One with IPS Full HD display with AMD PRO A-Series APUs with AMD Radeon graphics and support for up to three external displays.
  • The HP EliteDesk 700 with three different configurations: Desktop Mini, Microtower, and Small Form Factor.
