Distributor slashes the price of its timed next-day deliveries

Target lowers delivery charges

Target Components has reduced the rate of its two-day deliveries, which now start from £4.95.

The Yorkshire-based distributor has also slashed the price of its timed next-day deliveries. Customers will now get up to £8 off the cost of a next-day pre-12pm service.

“We’ve been looking at ways to reduce charges to our customers, but with carriage costs typically increasing there’s no saving to pass on to customers, so we’ve had to look at other ways of justifying a reduction,”
explained managing director Paul Cubbage.

“In terms of the two-day service, we can introduce this because it improves workflow in the warehouse and helps us cope with record order levels.

“Reduced timed-delivery charges are slightly different in that they are in response to the changing needs of our customers and an acknowledgement that we needed to do more to service that need.”
