PCR Boot Camp 2014: Breakout sessions line-up revealed

PCR Boot Camp isn’t just a conference and expo – it also has several not-to-be-missed breakout sessions designed to help you boost your business.

The event takes place at The Brewery in London next week (Wednesday, May 21st). It’s free for retailers to attend – you can you can sign up here.

Here’s the full list of training and breakout sessions plus running times:

Training sessions

James Watt Room

Microsoft will be running training sessions in the James Watt Room throughout the afternoon, centered on Office 365. All delegates who complete the training will received a free copy.

2.00 – 2.45 – Session 1

3.00 – 3.45 – Session 2

Breakout sessions

2.30 – 2.50 Transmentum – Road to recurring Revenue

A highly interactive session where the audience will reflect on how well their own business is doing. This will look cover the eight critical success factors in building a recurring revenue business, which will give the owners control of key choices – acquisition or exit. Examining business factors from strategy through to sales, marketing and the help desk, the session will give the audience a chance to get involved and to learn from others around them. Everyone will leave the session with action items that will make a difference to their own business.

3.00 – 3.20 Edimax – Connect with Edimax 

Edimax will showcase its portfolio of smart home technology, explaining how technologically advanced Wi-Fi powered homes will become a reality. The upcoming range of Smart Life products is designed to give users intelligent control over their electronics, and the Edimax SP-1101W will be on display during the session. Edimax will also demonstrate a range of IP camera solutions and a dual-band wireless bridge, which provides wireless audio streaming capacity to convert existing wired speakers into wireless ones.

3.30 – 3.50 Transcend – Good memories start here

Memory specialist Transcend will give a brief history of the company and an overview of its products, with a focus on the after sales service and support initiatives it has in place. The firm was founded in 1988 in Taipei, and it portfolio now includes over 2,000 memory modules, flash memory cards, USB flash drives, MP3 players, digital photo frames, portable hard drives, multimedia products and accessories.

4.00 – 4.20 Turtle Beach – Bringing the Turtle Beach audio advantage to retail

Turtle Beach will give an rundown of its 35-year heritage in the market, including a movie on its new Z series headset. Key features such as Chat Boost, Mic Monitoring, and Dual Band will be demonstrated, and its new PC ranges unveiled. Information on support services. kiosks and other retailer benefits will also be provided.

4.30 – 4.50 Microsoft – Life after Windows XP and SBS

The session will include a history of Windows XP and a run-through of the security risks and threats that are currently present for users. There will also be a briefing on current market trends, mobility and updates to the most recent operating systems, life after SBS and the on/off premise options that are available to Microsoft customers.

5.00 – 5.20 M2M – Why the future is SSD not HDD

M2M will look at issues facing the PC Storage market and of the laptop and PC markets for channel resellers – and why the firm says the future is SSD not HDD. According to M2M, memory modules will have a critical place to play for the channel over the next two years and they can add value to the channel proposition. It will also demonstrate the value of spending a few extra pence on quality components, and how that can save a business a fortune in the long term.
