Unlocked 4th gen Intel Core processor to target enthusiast market

Intel Devil’s Canyon CPU reportedly set for early June launch

Intel’s next major enthusiast processor – codenamed ‘Devil’s Canyon’ – is reportedly set for release on June 2nd.

The unlocked 4th gen Intel Core CPU is to be released alongside the Pentium K processor, claims VR Zone (via WCCFTech).

The enthusiast components will follow the release of a refreshed line of Haswell-architecture processors on May 11th, which will be joined by the release of the Intel 9 Series chipset.

Devil’s Canyon is supported by the new 9 Series chipset, and also features an improved thermal interface material (TIM) and new packaging materials.

The processor is aimed at enthusiasts looking to overclock their CPU for faster performance.

Top of the refreshed Haswell CPUs is the quad-core, octa-thread Intel Core i7-4790K, said to be the first consumer-level 22nm processor to reach a core frequency of 4GHz.
