EA makes changes to its Origin store next month

EA to stop selling boxed games on Origin

As of April 4th, EA will on longer sell physical games through its Origin store.

The Origin store will be entirely digital downloads for PC and Mac. EA says that only one per cent of its users still desire a boxed version of their games.

“What does this mean for you? If you’re among 99 per cent of our users, absolutely nothing. Your shopping experience hasn’t changed one single bit,” reads EA’s official press release.

“But if you’re that one per cent who still desires a physical collection, we want to let you know that Origin won’t be able to fulfill that need beginning April 4th. We’ll still be here when you transition your gaming habits to the wonders of digital downloads.”
