Acer has announced that its appointment as the ‘official technology provider’ to Surfing GB, the UK’s national governing body for surfing.
The one year agreement will see Surfing GB use Acer technology at all of its UK events, while Team GB surfers will use Acer laptops and tablets as part of its coaching programme and to keep in touch with fans and family while at championships.
In addition, Surfing GB will use Acer laptops, tablets and smartphones to run its day-to-day operations. Acer will also be the title sponsor for the British Interclub Surf Championship in September. The first time the partnership will come into effect is at the ISA World Junior Surfing Championship in Ecuador from April 5th-13th.
“The relationship between Surfing GB and Acer has been formed upon Acer’s desire and passion to ‘explore beyond limits’, which at its very core is what surfing is all about,” commented Nick Rees, operations manager for Surfing GB.
“Acer’s exciting new commitment and investment in Surfing GB provides us with the necessary tools and support to transform and extend our technological reach whilst modernising key aspects of our operations such as coaching and judging.”

Surfing GB will use Acer’s Aspire S7 Ultrabooks and Iconia W5 and W3 tablets, as well as Acer smartphones.
