Juliet Ward steps in as Simon Barry becomes core electricals trading manager

Argos appoints new technology trading manager

Argos has appointed Juliet Ward as its new technology trading manager, who is responsible for buying computing, tablets and mobile tech for the retailer.

She replaces Simon Barry, who, after two and a half years in that role, has moved over to become core electricals trading manager.

Juliet Ward was previously trading manager for jewellery and watches at Argos. She has vast experience in buying, having held several roles at big retailers in the past including Superdrug, Homebase, Woolworths and more.

In a statement sent to PCR, Argos said that Juliet Ward plays "a key role in developing Argos’ growing technology business".

"As a busy mum of two small children, Juliet knows first-hand how mobile technology has become part of normal everyday life for many families," it added.

"She is able to bring this experience to her job to ensure that Argos continues to meet the needs of busy families by making mobile tech accessible and affordable for them.

"An important part of Argos’ strategy is ensuring it offers something for everyone, whether customers want big brands, the latest ‘must have’ technology, or something affordable for the kids.

"Wearable technology is clearly a big area of growth for 2014, and Juliet is really excited about watching this trend grow through 2014 and beyond."

Juliet Ward has also replaced Simon Barry on PCR’s Retail Advisory Board.
