Female-focused products already a hit on Apple UK web store ahead of wider launch in H1 2014

British DAB radio vendor View Quest tunes into Europe

Growing DAB+ Radio brand View Quest is ready to break into Europe following its initial success in the UK.

It has sold around 70,000 units over the past two years, with Apple’s UK web store selling the products online, as well as Selfridges, Argos, Amazon and Tesco.

The range includes a DAB radio devised by British designer Emma Bridgewater, as well as the Hepburn and Retro models, plus the Bardot – a handbag-style retro DAB radio. All products feature Bluetooth functionality and offer up to 25 hours of continuous-play battery life.

The company behind the brand, New Dawn Innovations, presented the products to the European channel for the first time at the Distree EMEA 2014 in Monaco in February. Zara Merricks and sales and marketing director Matthew Allen (pictured) attended the trade show on behalf of the firm.

New Dawn has offices in China and the UK and a core demographic of 30-year-old women, and aims to launch in Europe in the first half of 2014.

It’s targeting key European territories including Germany, Switzerland, France and Denmark.

Founder Jonathan Merricks said:“We believe the only way to achieve our growth goals across EMEA is to form long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with distributors and retailers.

“We have developed a strong channel strategy in the UK and are now keen to roll this out across each of the key territories. In addition, we will continue to keep ahead of current trends in design and create a portfolio that is as exciting in style as it is advanced in technology.”
