Motorola: Our smartwatch won’t be ‘extremely ugly’ like the rest

Motorola has said that it is working on a ‘stylish’ smartwatch as the current examples of wearable tech are ‘extremely ugly’.

The bold statement was made by Motorola’s product management SVP, Rick Osterloh, at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

He said the Motorola smartwatch was in development before Lenovo acquired the firm.

Earlier this week an image claiming to show a prototype of a Google/Motorola smartwatch was leaked.

The device was said by an anonymous source to have been developed with the codename ‘Gem’, with ‘Google Watch’ allegedly set as its release title.
